Pupil Portal

Welcome to the Risedale Pupil Portal, supporting online learning.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure you login into your '@risedale.co.uk' Google account to access Google Classroom and 'accept' the invitations your teachers have sent or enter the class code you have been given. If you are having difficulty, please check that you aren't logged in with a personal/home account or that someone else, e.g. a parent or sibling, hasn't left themselves logged into the device. This is particularly important if you are sharing devices/computers. For more help please check out our 'Using Google Classroom - Risedale Pupil Guide' or contact our IT Team directly: ithelpdesk@risedale.org.uk

If you have any questions about your learning the best way to contact your teacher is through Google Classroom. Your teachers will do their very best to respond to your questions during the normal hours of the school day. If you have any concerns, please speak to your parent/carer and they can contact the school on your behalf: Staff Directory

Your Learning Platforms:

Information from your teachers about the online learning platforms we use at Risedale:

Accelerated Reader:

  • Who is this for? All pupils in years 7-9 (KS3). Pupils should aim to read for between 15 and 25 minutes a day, which is how much time they would read normally every day at school. Pupils should aim to be reading a book and quizzing using Accelerated Reader at least once a month.
  • Is this relevant for home learning? Most definitely! Reading is a key indicator of how successful a pupil could be in the future and is key for all jobs they may wish to undertake. Due to its nature, pupils will be able to quiz on what they are reading and get an instant mark on their quizzing ability so they will know if they are doing well in reading.
  • Who do you contact if you can't log in? Please contact Miss Roberts via the AR Information Google Classroom page. Alternatively you can email roberts.g@risedale.org.uk , matthewman.s@risedale.org.uk or burke.s@risedale.org.uk
  • Any further information? Even if pupils do not have fiction books at home there are several options to help you keep reading. As well as AR having lots of articles to access and read (go to the non-fiction article reader on the AR platform right hand orange button on the pupil home screen), the company have also opened up their digital database for free during the pandemic. This has been shared with all pupils and it is a fantastic colourful online library with titles to suit all reading abilities and ages readon.myon.co.uk
