Transition to Year 7

Hello - My name is Mrs Hailwood and I am the Transition Manager and one of the Senior Teachers at Risedale School.

I oversee the transition process for our new pupils and I’m very much looking forward to welcoming your child to Risedale, to join the Risedale Family. We know how exciting and nerve-racking the transition process can be for pupils and their families and so I’d like to reassure you that Risedale School will support them every step of the way.

Year 6 Welcome Evening: (Thursday 19th June 2024)

All parents/carers and pupils are invited to our Year 6 Welcome Evening to learn more about the Risedale Family, try on school uniform and meet the team.

Transition Time: (Monday 1st July - Wednesday 3rd July)

Before joining as a Year 7 pupil in September your child will take part in ‘Transition Time’ here at Risedale for 3 days starting on Monday 1st July and finishing on Wednesday 3rd July.

The Risedale School uniform and PE kit are a requirement for every pupil. We do not have a specific uniform for different seasons/times of the year. We have kept our uniform costs to an absolute minimum by reducing the need for clothing items with branded logos on them. Most items are unbranded and can therefore be bought from general retail outlets (eg. supermarkets and high street shops). Branded items are listed below and are specifically marked as 'Schoolshop only as branded'. These items can only be purchased from www.school-shop.co.uk.
