Why Join Us?

Do you want to play a direct role in your child's education and support Catterick’s young people? We are looking for a dedicated parent or carer to join us on our journey in shaping Risedale’s future direction.

What is involved?

  • Time Commitment: Attendance at after-school governor meetings (usually once per half-term) and occasional daytime visits.
  • Eligibility: Candidates must undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and meet basic eligibility requirements.

What Does a Parent Governor Do?

Governors play a vital role in setting the strategic vision for Risedale. Working with school leaders, they ensure our budget, staffing, and resources deliver the best possible outcomes for all pupils.

Please note: As a Parent Governor, you bring an essential parental perspective to discussions, but do not act as an official spokesperson for individual parent grievances.
