Website Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

At Risedale School, we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader.
  • Find "Skip to Content" links to bypass repetitive navigation.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Risedale School is committed to reaching WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

We are currently partially conformant with these standards due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-Accessible Content

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • PDF Documents: Many older school policy documents and newsletters are in PDF format and may not be fully accessible to screen reader software.
  • Third-Party Maps: We use Google Maps for our location; these may be difficult to navigate using assistive technology.
  • Video Captions: Some of our older video content may not have manual captions or transcripts.
