On Thursday 23rd November our Year 8 Football Team took on Queen Ethelburga's in the ESFA Under 13 PlayStation Small Schools' Cup. Despite facing strong winds and going down 3-0 at halftime, the team showed great resilience and determination to bring the score back to 3-2 in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Although they ultimately lost the game 7-2, the Year 8s displayed great sportsmanship, led by their captain Corey Hillman (8Allen), who lined up the team and shook hands with the opposition players at the end of the match.
The team's hard work and determination were evident throughout the game, and they should be proud of their performance. They showed great resilience in the face of adversity, and they never gave up. Their sportsmanship at the end of the match was also commendable, and it is a true reflection of the values of The Risdale Family.
I am very proud of the Year 8s, and I look forward to seeing them continue to develop as players and as individuals.
