Peer Reading: A World Book Day Warm-up!

02/03/2026 Top News

Our Risedale Family of Learners continues to flourish as Session 5 of our Peer Reading programme saw mentors and partners strengthening their bonds through a shared love of stories.

The library was buzzing with excitement this afternoon as we welcomed Hipswell Church of England Primary School back for Session 5 of our Peer Reading programme!

With World Book Day just around the corner, the energy was higher than ever. Our KS3 Reading Ambassadors and Year 5 pupils spent the afternoon sharing favourite stories and exploring new worlds together.

It has been a joy to watch our Family of Learners grow throughout this project. Today, our pupils truly gave their BEST and showed our school values in action:

  • RESPONSIBILITY: Our Ambassadors continue to lead with kindness and maturity.
  • RESPECT: A wonderful, supportive atmosphere where every voice is heard.
  • RESILIENCE: Helping each other with new vocabulary and persevering when things aren’t easy.
  • RELATIONSHIPS: Bonds have strengthened as mentors and partners shared their love for reading.
