Year 7 Adventures at Bewerley Park

22/04/2026 School Trips

From the depths of caves to the peaks of Brimham Rocks, our Year 7 pupils pushed their limits and built lasting RELATIONSHIPS on their recent residential at Bewerley Park.

This week, 32 pupils and four staff headed to Bewerley Park Outdoor Centre for the annual Year 7 Residential. We set off on Monday morning, fueled by the promise of sunshine and the excitement of three days of adventure.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a fantastic team of instructors and settled into a brand-new accommodation block. The first hurdle? Making the beds. I am delighted to report that every pupil was successful; furthermore, they maintained impeccably tidy dormitories throughout the stay. Parents, take note: they have officially lost their excuse for messy bedrooms at home!

Over three action-packed days, the pupils pushed their limits. Whether they were mountain biking, caving, or gorge walking, their efforts were nothing short of their BEST. We scrambled through the iconic formations at Brimham Rocks, battled high winds in canoes, and honed our navigation skills during orienteering.

We are incredibly proud of the way our pupils showed RESILIENCE in trying everything and not giving up, even when the activities were new and challenging. They showed kindness and RESPECT to others and took RESPONSIBILITY for their own safety and that of their peers. Most importantly, they developed positive RELATIONSHIPS, building new friendships and supporting one another through every challenge.

It was an absolute privilege to spend these three days with such a wonderful group of young people. While we were all sorry to see the trip end, we returned with memories to last a lifetime. My sincere thanks go to Mrs Price, Dr Shephard, and Mr Shergold for their dedication (and for sacrificing their sleep!) to make this trip possible.
