Year 11 Triple Science pupils took a microscopic look at genetic inheritance, studying asexual reproduction and budding in yeast cells to connect lab observations directly to biological theory.
Ms Dunphy’s Year 11 Triple Science pupils were back in the lab on Monday 5th October for an engaging hands-on investigation into genetic inheritance and cellular reproduction.
To better understand how traits and genetic material pass down through generations, pupils put budding yeast cells under the microscope. By observing asexual reproduction up close, the class was able to directly link micro-level biological processes to key concepts in genetic inheritance.
Our young biologists demonstrated fantastic focus, accuracy, and laboratory skills throughout the session as they connected classroom theory to practical science.
A huge well done to Ms Dunphy’s class for their precision and high-level work—fantastic effort, Year 11!
