Our Year 9 pupils showcased our school values this weekend, pushing their limits at Peat Rigg to successfully complete their Bronze Award DofE Expedition.
A massive well done to our Year 9 pupils who completed their Bronze Award DofE Expedition and training at Peat Rigg Outdoor Training Centre last weekend (9th–10th May).
Throughout the challenge, our pupils truly embodied our school values. They showed incredible RESILIENCE when the trekking got tough, took RESPONSIBILITY for their kit, and showed immense RESPECT for the environment and each other. By working together, they strengthened their RELATIONSHIPS and proved what it means to be part of the Risedale Family.
The instructors at Peat Rigg were full of praise, noting that our pupils were a credit to the school and made their jobs easy with such a positive attitude.
Mrs Hailwood, DofE Leader, said:
"Our pupils were absolutely amazing on their Bronze DofE training and expedition last weekend. They all had very different starting points, but each one of them pushed themselves to their limits, showing all our Risedale values and more.
We are so incredibly proud of every single one of them; they showed such heart and determination. They all learned valuable skills, but also had their own personal wins that they will remember forever."
We are so proud to see you all becoming the BEST versions of yourselves!
