Football News: Y10 Boys’ vs Outwood Academy Easingwold ⚽

The Risedale Year 10 boys played Outwood Academy Easingwold in the Area Cup on Wednesday, 12th November.

Easingwold started strongly with two impressive goals, showing some individual brilliance. Risedale responded and had possession for long periods of the first half, but Easingwold made us pay with their quick counterattacks, scoring another two goals. The halftime score was 4-0 and provided a great test of character for #TeamRisedale.

The boys responded in the second half by embodying the Risedale spirit and striving to be the BEST version of themselves. They showed excellent RESILIENCE, refusing to let the deficit define their performance. They took RESPONSIBILITY for their roles and, demonstrating fantastic teamwork and strong RELATIONSHIPS on the pitch, dominated the opponents' half for the remainder of the game. They played with immense heart and showed great RESPECT for the opposition and the Area Cup competition by battling hard until the final whistle. Unfortunately, despite numerous chances, we couldn’t turn the pressure into goals.

Reflecting on the match, Head of PE, Mr Lawson said,

“I was so proud of every member of the squad. There were some really excellent performances seen throughout, but particularly from Jack Gilroy (10Lawson) and Bryan Brobbey (10Douglas), who stood out on their debuts, demonstrating their personal commitment to RESPONSIBILITY by stepping up for the team. Well done, boys. I am proud of every one of you!”
