Risedale U15 girls fight valiantly in Area Cup clash.

The Risedale School U15 Girls Football Team put in a spirited performance in their thrilling 4-4 draw against Bedale High School in the Area Cup semi-final.

Knowing that victory would secure their place in the final, the girls displayed exceptional teamwork, resilience, and footballing ability throughout the match. A hat-trick from Ria Glenn (9Vizor) and a goal from Lexi Littler (10Ford) showcased their attacking prowess, while goalkeeper Ava Hughes-Francis (9Sandell) pulled off several remarkable saves to deny Bedale on multiple occasions.

Despite their valiant efforts, the Risedale girls fell short in the penalty shootout. However, their positive spirits remained unbroken, as evidenced by their celebratory singing journey back to school – much to the amusement of their Team Coach, Mr J Metcalfe and Head of PE, Miss Brierley.

"I am incredibly proud of the girls once again," said Mr J Metcalfe. "They played a fantastic game, displaying great teamwork and determination. Well done girls!”

The girls have several fixtures still to come so don't forget that training takes place every Wednesday after school - everyone welcome!
