A World of Books Awaits: Risedale's Scholastic Book Fair is Here, 1st - 8th December!
We are thrilled to announce that the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Risedale from Monday, 1st December to Monday, 8th December! This is a wonderful opportunity to encourage reading for pleasure and help our pupils discover their next favourite book, just in time for the holidays!
๐ What is the Scholastic Book Fair?
The Book Fair transforms a section of our school into a vibrant, temporary bookstore filled with hundreds of carefully selected titles for secondary school pupils, including:
- Bestselling fiction and popular young adult novels.
- Non-fiction books covering science, history, careers, and current affairs.
- Graphic novels and engaging formats.
It’s more than just a book sale; it’s an event that gets pupils excited about reading and the joy of owning books.
๐๏ธ Key Dates and Opening Times
- The Book Fair will run for one week from 1st to 8th December.
- Pupils will have the opportunity to visit the fair daily during break and lunchtimes, and also during their lessons in the Library.
๐ซ How Does the Fair Benefit Our School?
Every purchase made at the Book Fair directly contributes to our school. All proceeds go towards purchasing new books and resources for our School Library. This means that by supporting your child's love of reading, you are also helping to enrich the literary resources for the entire school community.
๐ณ Payment Options for Parents/Carers
We accept various forms of payment to make purchasing easy:
- Online Payment Link: You can pay online at www.bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/pay and simply select Risedale School from the drop-down menu.
- Pre-paid Gift Vouchers: Vouchers are available in £5, £10, £15, £20 and £25. Go to www.bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/gift-vouchers to buy vouchers for your child before the Fair.
- Cash: We will accept cash purchases at the Fair.
- Wish List: If your child spots any books they would like at the Book Fair, they can write them down on their Wish List. Paper copies will be available at the book fair. They can then discuss the list with you when they get home if you’d like to purchase the books and pay online.
We encourage you to discuss a budget with your child before they attend the fair.
โค๏ธ Your Support Makes a Difference
Reading is crucial for academic success, empathy development, and overall wellbeing. Please take a few moments to talk to your child about the Book Fair and encourage them to attend. We look forward to seeing the excitement the books bring to our pupils!
