Risedale’s Year 7 rugby team claimed a brilliant silver finish in their debut tournament at Wensleydale RUFC, while the Year 8s impressed with a masterclass of teamwork on the pitch.
A huge well done to all the boys who represented #TeamRisedale at the Rugby 7s tournament on Wednesday, 18th March. It was a day of high energy, great weather, and even better sportsmanship!
Year 7: Second Place on Debut 🥈
For many of our Year 7 boys, this tournament was a milestone—their first-ever games of competitive rugby. The team embraced the challenge with incredible RESILIENCE, enjoying both the sunshine and the fierce competition.
A special shoutout goes to Eloi Taylor, who truly "caught the rugby bug," scoring some fantastic tries to help lead the team to an impressive second-place finish overall. What a start to their rugby careers!
Year 8: A Masterclass in Teamwork
The Year 8 squad showed great character throughout the day, rallying together in every match. While the overall results didn't go their way this time, they saved their best for last—putting on an absolute masterclass of flowing rugby in their final game of the tournament.
We are incredibly proud of how they stuck together, and we look forward to seeing that same chemistry in their next fixture.
Coach's Final Word: Mr Lawson (Head of PE)
It was a pleasure to see the boys building such strong RELATIONSHIPS on the pitch and showing the RESPONSIBILITY required to represent the school so well.
Well done #TeamRisedale!
