Generously donating their free time, our pupils took part in various sessions, manning the Poppy Appeal stall at Tesco in Catterick Garrison to help raise vital funds for military veterans, serving personnel, and their families. Representing local groups including the Army Cadets, Police Cadets, and local football teams, their enthusiasm and polite manners earned praise from shoppers and organisers alike. In taking part, they truly embodied our core school values, demonstrating RESPONSIBILITY, RESPECT, RESILIENCE, and RELATIONSHIPS in action.

Our Proud Military Connections

As a school situated at the heart of Catterick Garrison, with a large number of our pupils coming from serving military families, the Poppy Appeal holds a deeply personal significance for our entire school community. Remembrance is a meaningful reflection of our everyday connection to the Armed Forces. Seeing our pupils take active ownership of this initiative highlights the pride they feel for both their school and their wider military community.

Community Thanks

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Julie, the Community Champion for Tesco Catterick, for hosting the stall, supporting the volunteers throughout the week, and capturing fantastic photographs of our pupils in action.

Most importantly, thank you to all the local residents and shoppers who stopped by to purchase a poppy, leave a donation, or share encouraging words with our young volunteers.

By striving to be the BEST version of themselves, every pupil who took part has made us immensely proud. You are a true credit to Risedale School!
