Risedale Pupils Appointed as Youth Directors for RYCIC

26/03/2026 Top News

We are delighted to announce that five of our pupils have successfully joined the Richmond Yorkshire Community Interest Company (RYCIC) Shadow Board.

Following their successful applications, Josua Sovui, Ranulph Gray, Paris Johnson, Alisha Kincaid, and Sophie Moraghan are now ready to represent the young people of our region. This is a landmark opportunity for these pupils to step outside the classroom and into the heart of local decision-making.

Shaping the Future of Richmond

By joining the RYCIC Shadow Board, our pupils aren't just observing—they are participating in projects that will define the future of our town. This role allows them to:

  • Influence Development: Having a say in how Richmond and Hambleton develop for their generation.
  • Build Career Skills: Gaining "real-world" experience in strategy and community planning for their future CVs and UCAS applications.
  • Lead the Way: Ensuring that the voices of young people are heard loud and clear in local projects.

A Proud Moment for Risedale

This achievement perfectly reflects our school’s commitment to our core values of RESPONSIBILITY and RELATIONSHIPS.

Speaking about the appointments, Senior Teacher Mrs Lumsdon said:

"I am so proud of these five pupils for taking the initiative to get involved with RYCIC. It is vital that our young people have a voice in the future of the area that they live in, and I know they will do a fantastic job representing the Risedale Family."

Huge congratulations to our new Youth Board Directors. We can’t wait to see the impact you make!
