The event brought together proactive pupils from across the local area to begin the vital work of drafting a strategic plan for our community’s future. The launch proved that when young people are given a seat at the table, their vision is both ambitious and inspiring.

Risedale Pupils Leading the Charge

We are especially proud to have five of our own Risedale pupils at the forefront of this mission. By taking on these roles, they are putting the Risedale Family values into practice on a regional stage:

• RESPONSIBILITY: Leading with purpose and taking ownership of local issues.
• RESPECT: Collaborating effectively with pupils from other local schools.
• RELATIONSHIPS: Strengthening the bonds between our school and the wider Richmond and Hambleton community.

A Strategic Vision for the Future

The Shadow Board, supported by the Richmond Yorkshire Community Interest Company (RYCIC), is designed to ensure that the "voice of the future" is heard today. During the launch at Risedale, the new Directors began discussing real-world strategy, focusing on how our local area can better serve the next generation in terms of culture, environment, and opportunity.

Looking Ahead

This is just the beginning for our young leaders. As the Shadow Board continues its work throughout 2026, we look forward to seeing the pupils' ideas turn into tangible community projects.
