Risedale School has officially welcomed its newest cohort of learners, as Year 6 pupils from across the community completed an action-packed two-day transition experience.
The two days gave the rising Year 7s a brilliant taste of secondary school life. Pupils threw themselves into engaging, hands-on lessons, sampled the superb daily school menu at break and lunchtimes, and made plenty of new friends during free time on the top yard.
Throughout their time on site, the pupils rose spectacularly to the "48-Hour Challenge," actively earning praise stamps from teachers by consistently demonstrating the core Risedale values: Responsibility, Respect, Resilience, and Relationships.
The transition concluded on a high note with an uplifting Celebration Assembly. The entire year group came together to give a massive round of applause to all the pupils who had been nominated by teachers for standing out in their various subjects. Special recognition and prizes were also handed out to the top praise-stamp earners from each tutor group, celebrating those who truly went above and beyond to embody the school values.
Looking Ahead to September
While the pupils won’t officially start their Risedale journey until September, preparations for the new academic year are already underway.
Parents and carers are highly encouraged to come along with their children to the upcoming Year 6 Uniform Sizing Event on Monday 6th July, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm in the Risedale School Hall. This event is the perfect opportunity to try on uniform and check sizing ahead of the autumn term.
Please note that uniform cannot be purchased directly at this event; all orders must be placed online. To guarantee delivery in time for the start of school in September 2026, all orders must be placed via SchoolShop before Wednesday 29th July.
A huge well done to the Class of 2031—you have been an absolute credit to yourselves and your primary schools, and we cannot wait to see you all properly in September!
