Determination, a fond farewell, and a standout Player of the Match performance define a proud day for our KS3 Girls' Football Team.
On Monday, 2nd March, our KS3 Girls Football Team travelled to play their cup fixture away against Richmond School. Unfortunately, the final score didn’t go #TeamRisedale’s way, but the result certainly didn’t reflect the determination, RESILIENCE and team spirit shown by our girls throughout the match.
A special mention goes to Frankie Young (7Reid), who played her final game for Risedale School. Frankie has been a fantastic asset to the team, consistently supporting her teammates with a great work rate and positive attitude. We are incredibly grateful for her commitment to training and the teamwork she has shown whilst representing the school. You will be greatly missed, Frankie, and we wish you every success in your next chapter!
Player of the Match today goes to Maizie-Leigh Parry (8Davies), who has truly secured her position as the school's wing-back. She ran her heart out, showed great technical ability, and gave everything for the team. It was unlucky not to see her on the scoresheet, but her performance was outstanding.
Thank you to Charlotte Watkins (11Vizor) for being the referee for the fixture; without her, the game wouldn't have gone ahead. Charlotte's confidence grew throughout the game, and we hope she can referee future fixtures.
Thank you to Richmond School for hosting us and for a competitive fixture, and a big thank you to Mr Godfrey for driving the bus and supporting the team by being our assistant coach.
We’re proud of you, girls — onwards and upwards!
