KS3 Art Critics: The Verdict on ‘Snack Attack’

10/03/2026 Top News

This month, our Key Stage 3 Art pupils took on a new challenge, stepping into the role of professional ‘Art Critics’ for their homework.

Pupils were tasked with watching ‘Snack Attack’, a multi-award-winning short animated film by Andrew Cadelago. After analysing the animation, storytelling, and character design, pupils were asked to write a formal critical review to share their insights with a wider audience.

The Risedale Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our KS3 critics didn’t hold back! After tallying the scores, Risedale pupils gave the film an overall rating of 3 out of 5 stars. While the majority of the year group recommended the short for its heart-warming message and clever animation, a few tough critics were not so sure!

Head of Art, Ms Westwood said: “I loved reading all of their reviews, our pupils had clearly enjoyed being able to express and share their opinions and in such a thoughtful and articulate manner.”

We are proud to showcase three of the most standout critiques from this month’s project. These pupils demonstrated a fantastic sense of RESPONSIBILITY in their independent learning, providing truly professional and thoughtful analysis.
