Risedale School is beaming with pride following Year 9 pupil Frankie Dempster’s recent success on the football pitch. Frankie has officially been selected for the Hambleton and Richmondshire Area Team, an elite squad representing the very best talent in the region. After being put forward for trials by Risedale’s Head of PE, Mr Lawson, Frankie successfully navigated the competitive selection process to secure his place in the under-14s squad.

A Dominant Debut

Frankie’s impact was felt immediately during his second match for the Area Team on Friday, 27th February at Richmond School. Facing off against the Darlington All Stars, Frankie helped lead his team to a resounding 8-1 victory. Demonstrating the RELATIONSHIPS and teamwork we value at Risedale, Frankie contributed significantly to the scorecard with both a goal and an assist.

Dedication to the Game

For Frankie, this selection is the culmination of years of hard work and RESILIENCE. His schedule is a testament to his dedication; he currently plays for Richmond Pro Player and Bedale Juniors, training or playing nearly every night of the week—including Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

"I love playing football and playing for my local teams, so when I was selected for the trials for the Area squad, it was a big step and a proud achievement for me," Frankie shared. "I really hope I might be considered for the County Trials next year."

By balancing this demanding schedule with his school life, Frankie is a fantastic example of a pupil showing RESPONSIBILITY and aspiration.
