12/05/2026 School Trips Sports News

A fantastic afternoon of football at Stokesley as our Year 7, 9, and 10 squads demonstrated brilliant skill and Risedale values on the pitch.

On Tuesday, 12th May, our Year 7, 9, and 10 football teams travelled to Stokesley. Although the final scores were not in our favour, it was a proud afternoon for the PE Department as our pupils showcased our core school values of RESILIENCE and RESPECT against tough opposition.

Match Highlights:

⭐ Technical Skill: Year 7 pupil Zakk Brown demonstrated his BEST by scoring a clinical goal after executing a perfect "rainbow flick" over a defender.

⭐ Consistency: Year 10 Ellie-Mae Reid was outstanding as always. As the only female player on the pitch, her performance was a masterclass in skill and RESILIENCE, earning the full RESPECT of her teammates and opponents alike.

⭐ Goal Scorers: The Year 10s showed great offensive spirit, with Liam Smith and Matthew Senivota both scoring excellent goals and contributing brilliantly to the team's play.

⭐ Continuous Challenge: The Year 9 squad pushed their opponents throughout the afternoon, with the Stokesley coaching staff specifically highlighting the impressive performances of Lukas Ellis and Frankie Dempster.

⭐ Leadership: Despite being sidelined by injury, Corey Hillman took on the RESPONSIBILITY of Year 10 Team Manager. His commitment to his teammates is a testament to the strong RELATIONSHIPS within the squad.

Reflecting on the day’s football matches, Head of PE, Mr Lawson, said:

"I was incredibly proud of all three squads; the level of effort and sportsmanship across the board was fantastic. Even when the results were going against us, the pupils stayed focused and played with real heart. A huge thank you to Stokesley for hosting us and providing such a high standard of competition. It was a great afternoon for school sport."
