The Risedale Centre SEND department wrapped up the term with a heartwarming week of festive activities, celebrating the creativity of their pupils and the supportive spirit of the Risedale Family.
The Risedale Centre SEND department celebrated the festive season with a wonderful series of creative events during the last week of term. Pupils took part in special sessions for baking and decorating Christmas cookies, alongside a lively lunchtime craft workshop.
The pupils also worked incredibly hard, preparing cheesecakes for the school’s Christmas Fair. Year 10 pupil, Bethany Webster, had the pleasure of presenting the delicious results to Headteacher Mrs Greenwood, who was delighted with their hard work.
To finish the celebrations, the department hosted a cosy screening of The Christmas Chronicles, where pupils received Christmas gifts, generously donated by The Infantry Training Centre, Catterick Garrison, to bring Christmas joy to the pupils of Risedale School.
Reflecting on the successful events, SENCo Miss Burke said: "Our SEND pupils are such an important part of our school community. I want to say a big thank you to all the teachers and support staff who work tirelessly to support our young people. Working with such fantastic people reminds me of just how lucky we all are to be part of the Risedale Family."
