Risedale School’s Year 10 Fashion & Textiles pupils took to the workshop this week to work on an exciting practical project for their new Key Stage 4 course.

During these first weeks of term, pupils have been studying the classic work of the Arts & Crafts Movement, taking direct inspiration from iconic designer William Morris. Demonstrating fantastic RESILIENCE, RESPONSIBILITY, and focus, the pupils designed and carved their own custom printing blocks to create intricate, repeating patterns.

Teacher of Design & Technology, Mrs Vizor, shared her pride in the group, saying,

"It has been an absolute joy watching our Year 10 pupils embrace the technical challenge of block printing as they begin their Key Stage 4 journey. They showed great RESPECT for the heritage techniques and have built strong RELATIONSHIPS while collaborating in the workshop. Well done, Year 10 - keep up the great work!"
