Connecting with the Global Forces Community Through STEM! 🌍✨

13/07/2026 Top News

Tune in this summer to hear our Year 7 Service pupils broadcasting daily STEM facts to the global military community!

A huge shout-out to the Year 7 Service pupils who spent the morning of Monday, 13th July, stepping into the shoes of professional broadcasters. Producer and Presenter Chris Kaye from BFBS, the armed forces broadcaster, came into school to record the children for a unique initiative that aims to connect military families worldwide through the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) education.

The young broadcasters took over the microphones to record a series of engaging, bite-sized STEM facts. These educational snippets are scheduled to be broadcast globally, reaching the wider military community and forces families stationed across the globe.
The exciting Summer School feature will officially begin next week on the BFBS Catterick Breakfast Show. Listeners can tune in Monday to Friday at 8:15 AM throughout the holidays to hear the pupils deliver their daily lesson.

You can catch our brilliant pupils on 106.9 FM in the garrison, by asking your smart speaker to "play BFBS Catterick", or by listening on the free BFBS app. You can also tune in online here: www.bfbs.com/radio/stations/bfbs-catterick

"It was great to see our pupils growing in confidence," said Dr Ellis, Service Pupil Manager. "Thank you to BFBS for the opportunity to connect with the wider military community."

Excellent work, Year 7. We can't wait to hear your voices on the airwaves this summer!
