Risedale pupil Caitlin Arling completes 5km Race for Life and raises vital funds for Cancer Research UK.

On the morning of Sunday, 7th June, Risedale pupil Caitlin Arling (8Gückel) took a major stride forward in her personal "14 things before 14" journey by completing the Darlington Race for Life 5km. Aiming to tick "earn a medal" off her bucket list, Caitlin demonstrated outstanding RESPONSIBILITY by turning her personal goal into a fundraising mission for a fantastic cause.

The event saw a massive, vibrant crowd gather for the start line. Dressed in her pink t-shirt and race number, Caitlin joined the sea of runners as part of the "A-Team". From the moment the horn blew, Caitlin remained entirely focused on the challenge ahead and gave her absolute all. Showing immense RESILIENCE, she dug deep and executed a brilliant sprint finish right at the end to cross the line triumphantly.

Reflecting on Caitlin's incredible determination, her mum, Stacey Arling, said, "She did so well and even though she did find it more difficult than she was expecting, she dug deep and even sprinted for the end. We are incredibly proud of Caitlin. She makes us proud every day!"

On Facebook, Cancer Research UK Race for Life said, "Thank you so much for being part of the Race, Caitlin. We hope you had a fantastic time ๐Ÿฉท"
