Risedale’s Year 10 and Year 8 football teams demonstrated outstanding RESILIENCE and teamwork at the Area Tournament, with the Year 10s securing a hard-fought second-place finish.
A massive well done to our Year 10 and Year 8 football teams who competed in the Area Tournament on Friday, 20th March!
Year 10: Silver Success🥈
After a 0-0 draw against SFX in their first game, the Year 10 boys showed incredible RESILIENCE with 3-1 wins over Richmond and Thirsk in their next two games. There were some great finishes and goals from Corey Hillman, James Lacey, Matthew Senivota and Alex Stephenson.
Despite a tense 2-2 draw with Northallerton, followed by a 2-0 loss against Easingwold, #TeamRisedale secured second place in the tournament overall and were runners-up to Richmond, who were the eventual winners.
Huge shoutout to Matthew Senivota for his incredible 4-goal haul! ⚽⚽⚽⚽
Year 8: Determination on the Pitch
Our Year 8s battled hard as their schedule involved some long waits and then three hard-fought back-to-back games in quick succession in chilly conditions. While luck didn't always go our way, there were two fantastic goals from Alfie Davies and Josh Griffin. Well done, boys!
Head of PE, Mr Lawson, was so proud of the RESPONSIBILITY and RELATIONSHIPS shown by all the boys on the day. Well done #TeamRisedale.
