Risedale School celebrates a remarkable month for Evalyn Gee (9Dean) as she takes to the stage in 'Dick Whittington' and officially passes out as a North Yorkshire Police Cadet.
At Risedale School, we are always incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our pupils beyond the classroom. This month, we are sharing a special "double celebration" for Evalyn Gee (9Dean), who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to both the performing arts and community service.
๐ญ Taking to the Stage
This weekend, Evalyn will be performing in the Gilling West Players' production of the classic pantomime, Dick Whittington.
Louise, from The Rhythm and Shoes Dance Academy, reached out to the school to praise Evalyn’s tireless work ethic. Evalyn has been training hard with both the Academy and the Gilling West Players to ensure the show is a success. Her RESILIENCE and dedication to the arts are wonderful to see, and we wish her a huge "break a leg" for her performances!
๐ฎ Serving the Community
In addition to her theatrical rehearsals, Evalyn has reached a significant milestone with the North Yorkshire Police Cadets.
Earlier this month, Evalyn took part in a formal Attestation ceremony at Catterick Garrison, officially "passing out" as a cadet. This ceremony marks a cadet’s formal commitment to the force and their community—a clear display of RESPONSIBILITY. North Yorkshire Police - Richmondshire shared their pride in the new cohort:
“A huge well done to all the young people who took their oath... Their enthusiasm, confidence, and teamwork are brilliant to see. We can't wait to see them out and about in the community.”
In Evalyn’s Own Words
Reflecting on her busy schedule and her achievements, Evalyn said:
“I’m really proud to be involved with both the Police Cadets and the Dance Academy. They are my favourite out-of-school activities, and they've given me so much confidence. I love that I get to learn such different skills and then use that confidence when I'm performing.”
A Credit to the Risedale Family
Evalyn’s achievements are a fantastic example of our school values in action. By building positive RELATIONSHIPS through teamwork and showing RESPECT for her community and her craft, she is truly flourishing.
Well done, Evalyn! You are a credit to the Risedale family.
