Risedale School is delighted to announce that our catering team has once again secured the highest possible 5-star rating from the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.

This "Very Good" status is a testament to the rigorous standards maintained behind the scenes. The rating covers everything from food preparation and storage to the cleanliness of the facilities and the effectiveness of safety management systems. At the heart of this achievement is a commitment to quality. Head Cook, Mrs Atkins, and her team take great pride in what they serve to the Risedale Family.

"I’m incredibly proud of the team," said Mrs Atkins. "We are dedicated to providing pupils and staff with freshly prepared meals every day. By sourcing our ingredients locally from across the Yorkshire region, we ensure that our menu remains healthy, balanced, and diverse."

For Headteacher Mrs Greenwood, the team’s success isn't just measured by hygiene scores but by the positive atmosphere they create in the canteen.

"Our catering team is a vital part of the Risedale Family," said Mrs Greenwood. "What makes them truly special is the care they show our pupils; they take the time to learn the children’s names and build genuine, positive RELATIONSHIPS with them. This 5-star rating is well-deserved, and we are so grateful for their hard work in keeping our pupils well-fueled, happy, and ready to learn."
