We were delighted to welcome so many families to Risedale School on Thursday, 22nd January, for our Year 9 Options Evening. The school hall was filled with a fantastic atmosphere as our pupils and their parents/carers began the important journey of choosing their subjects for Key Stage 4.
The evening was a great success, providing an opportunity for families to speak directly with subject teachers and gain a deeper understanding of the exciting curriculum choices available for the 2026-2028 academic years.
Senior Teacher, Mr Kirkbride, said: "It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 9 families engaging with the process. We are committed to ensuring every pupil feels supported in making the choices that are right for them."
What’s Next?
The options process now moves into its final stages:
- 24th - 25th January: Reflection Weekend – We encourage all families to use this weekend to review the Options Booklet together, discussing interests, strengths, and aspirations for the future.
- 26th - 30th January: Finalising Choices – Every pupil will have a dedicated one-to-one discussion with their Form Tutor during school time next week to finalise their choices and complete their Options Form.
Missed the evening?
Don't worry if you were unable to attend the event on 22/01/26. We have updated our dedicated Year 9 Options page with all the essential resources shared during the evening, including:
- The 2026-2028 Options Booklet (available in both English and Pashto versions).
- The Introductory Presentation slides from the evening.
- Key guidance regarding subject combinations and requirements.
