The Y7/8 Science Club has had an incredible start, fueling curiosity with hands-on sessions that included creating lava lamps and performing a heart dissection!
Risedale's Year 7/8 Science Club has now had two fabulous meetings. So far, we have made lava lamps and last week carried out a heart dissection.
The club is jointly run by Mrs Hailwood (Head of Science) and Mrs Newall (Senior Science Technician), who are both blown away by the pupils' enthusiasm and genuine thirst for knowledge. This excitement isn't limited to the club; it spills out into the rest of the week, especially when Mrs Newall is frequently being asked, "When is Science Club next on?"
The Year 7 & 8 pupils who attend the Science Club enjoy a vibrant, hands-on environment where curiosity thrives and extends beyond the regular curriculum.
Mrs Newall shared, "It gives me great pleasure to see our pupils so eager and excited to learn about all the different sciences, especially in their spare time. It's nice to see the pupils in a more relaxed environment where they are all passionate about the same thing."
Important Note: Science Club will now take a break for 2 weeks and will resume on Tuesday, 14th October 3-4pm.
