Pupil Leadership: Holocaust Memorial Day 💜

27/01/2026 Top News

Year 9 pupils Aiden and Alisha take the lead at Risedale School, honouring Holocaust Memorial Day with a moving tribute to courage and resistance.

At Risedale School, we believe the most powerful messages are those shared between peers. This year, Year 9 pupils Aiden and Alisha took a remarkable lead in our Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations.

Driven by their own initiative, Aiden and Alisha developed a moving resource for the entire school. Their work highlighted the bravery of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and the life-saving actions of individuals like Oskar Schindler, showing that resistance against hatred takes many forms. By sharing these stories of courage, they perfectly illustrated our core Risedale values of RESPONSIBILITY in remembering our history, RESPECT by challenging prejudice in our daily lives, and RELATIONSHIPS by building a welcoming community for all.

We are incredibly proud of Aiden and Alisha. Messages shared by pupils with their peers resonate so much more deeply, and their dedication shows the true spirit of Risedale. Thank you, Aiden and Alisha, for your leadership and empathy.
