Recording of Phone Calls

Risedale School records all incoming and outgoing telephone calls for training and monitoring purposes. All external callers receive an automated message informing them of this fact. The system does not record internal phone calls.

The following policies and privacy notices pertaining to Data Protection explain how the school manages personal information: Surveillance Policy, Privacy Notice (Workforce), Privacy Notice (Pupils, Parents and Guardians), Privacy Notice (General) and Privacy Notice (Governors and Volunteers).

Access to Recorded Calls: Only a limited number of staff have access to recorded telephone calls. Access to calls is restricted to exceptional circumstances and must be granted by senior school staff. A record of all access to calls will be kept, along with the reason for access. The primary reasons for accessing calls are staff training, security and safety purposes, and to improve overall communication effectiveness.

Monitoring Systems: Strict monitoring systems ensure the secure and confidential use of the recording system. Unauthorised access to recorded calls is prohibited. Copies of calls will not be made without the express permission of the Headteacher.

Complaints Policy

As a school, we always try to act in the best interest of our pupils, parents and staff but know that it's not always possible to get everything right. If you have any concerns please let us know as soon as possible, by contacting the school on 01748 833501, so we can try to help. We believe that it is better for everyone if issues can be resolved at the earliest possible stage and know that many concerns can be resolved informally. We take all concerns seriously and know that there are occasions when an issue may need to be taken further and a formal complaint raised. In those cases, please follow our complaints policy and procedure to commence this process accordingly. Click here to view our Complaints Policy.

Respect

We will always act to ensure that our school remains a safe place for pupils, staff and all other members of our community. Please show our staff the respect we try our best to give you.
