What is The Hub?

The Hub at Risedale School is a FREE space that offers facilities and outreach projects to bring our community together; a space where pupils, parents/carers, families, teachers and community workers can connect; a space to nurture and develop skills and gain confidence to move onto the next steps in school and life.

Meet the team:

Yvonne Deighton - Hub Co-ordinator

"As Hub Co-ordinator it is my job to ensure the smooth running of the Hub day-to-day and to help our pupils and members of the community access and make this most of this facility"

Kieran Pearson - Transition Manager

"As the Transition Manager at Risedale, I work with the local primary schools to ensure that pupils in Years 5 and 6 feel happy and confident about their move to secondary school."

Shelia Plews - Teacher of Art

"As the art teacher in The Hub I am responsible for delivering creative projects that will develop the skills, knowledge, confidence and understanding of our pupils"

Extended Transition for Year 6:

Transition can be a tricky time for any child. At Risedale, The Hub is there to make sure that all pupils feel supported in their next move whether it is from primary to secondary or from secondary to college and beyond. We work closely with local primary schools as we know that by sharing our experiences and expertise we can work more effectively together, offering a smooth transition for our pupils from primary to secondary education. The more we get to know our pupils and their families the better placed we are to support them and our wider community. We are proud to support the military and wider community of Catterick Garrison.
