The Heart of the Community
Connecting, Nurturing, Developing
What is The Hub?
The Hub at Risedale Sports and Community College is a FREE space that offers facilities and outreach projects to bring our community together; a space where students, parents/carers, families, teachers and community workers can connect; a space to nurture and develop skills and gain confidence to move onto the next steps in school and life.

Meet the team and find out what we do:
Yvonne Deighton - Hub Co-ordinator
"As Hub Co-ordinator it is my job to ensure the smooth running of the Hub day-to-day and to help our students and members of the community access and make this most of this facility"
Shelia Plews - Teacher of Art
"As the art teacher in The Hub I am responsible for delivering creative projects that will develop the skills, knowledge, confidence and understanding of our students"
Extended Transition for Year 6:
Transition can be a tricky time for any student. At Risedale, The Hub is there to make sure that all students feel supported in their next move whether it is from primary to secondary or from secondary to college and beyond. We work closely with local primary schools as we know that by sharing our experiences and expertise we can work more effectively together, offering a smooth transition for our students from primary to secondary education. The more we get to know our students and their families the better placed we are to support them and our wider community. We are proud to support the military and wider community of Catterick Garrison.
Tuesday 3rd October 2017 saw Risedale's official opening of The Hub. Creative workshops were held in The Hub with our fabulous team and also in The Writing Shed with inspirational story maker Irene Lofthouse and award winning journalist Joe Willis from Richmondshire Today.
